Self-taught artist, Deb Grisé, developed her painting skills first with watercolour and then with oils. Her style is contemporary impressionism for both the larger studio pieces and the smaller plein air works that will always be a favourite part of her life adventure as an artist. Her tips and techniques have been featured in current on-line art publications (ArtWise) and Deb’s work has been recognized in juried shows and competitions (The Artist Magazine). Deb has exhibited in well-known shows such as Toronto Art Expo, Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition at Nathan Phillips Square, as well as many summer outdoor art festivals including those in Markham,Waterloo, Fenelon Falls, Collingwood and Toronto. Her work is found in private collections in Ireland, France, Sierra Leone, The Netherlands, Greece, The United States, and across Canada. Deb owned and operated a gallery in Penetanguishene, where she lived for many years until moving to Barrie in 2013. After living in Barrie for three years, she opened a small gallery, where she exhibits her own work, which includes original paintings, silk art scarves, clothing, and accessories. Deb remains involved in the local art community.
