Louise Kelly grew up in St. John’s Newfoundland and, as a child, took art lessons at the Newfoundland Academy of Art. Over the years she has taken workshops in media including oil, acrylic, pastel and clay from many established artists including Ilse Hughes, Brian Smith, Rod Prouse, Susan Low-Beer and Margaret Ferraro. Plein air painting in pastel is a particular favorite, and Louise has enjoyed painting holidays in France, Quebec and Ontario.
She has shown her work at The McLaren Gallery, Double Doors Gallery, Quest and The Barrie Art Club.
Louise is a member of the Barrie Art Club, Quest, Go Figure, and Pastel Artists of Canada. Her self-portrait won second place in the 2018 Pastel Artists of Canada annual juried show.
